Duomo Florence rules and regulations
Situated in the bustling heart of Florence at Piazza del Duomo, the renowned Santa Maria Cathedral, affectionately known as the Duomo, stands as the fourth-largest cathedral in Europe. Beyond its architectural magnificence, the Duomo is not just a tourist attraction but a place of worship. Visitors are kindly urged to observe certain rules and guidelines that uphold the sacred nature of the cathedral, emphasizing respect and reverence for this significant religious and historical landmark.
Dresscode
In order to enter the cathedral, one must be dressed appropriately. Anyone wearing sandals, sunglasses, hats, or exposing their legs or shoulders is prohibited from entering the cathedral. Skirts, shorts, and plunging necklines should all be avoided.
Personal Belongings
Heavy luggage is not permitted inside the Duomo; however, there is a check room inside the Museum. Your backpacks and heavy luggage may be stored in private storage facilities around the cathedral grounds, such as Luggage Hero.

On the right side of the Duomo Florence, there is an entrance for people with disabilities or reduced mobility. Within the monument itself, there is a Touch Able route. Visitors with disabilities may be accompanied by a guardian or companion.
Photography
Inside the Duomo Florence, Bell Tower, and other attractions in the Cathedral compound, photography is permitted. Flashes must not be used in any photograph. The use of selfie sticks and tripods is strictly prohibited.
Pets/Guide Dogs
It is necessary for visitors to undergo screening tests before entering monuments. No pets are allowed inside Santa Maria del Duomo.
Food & Drinks
Inside the Duomo Florence, it is strictly forbidden to bring food and beverages from outside the building.
